Why QC Termemilano spa should be on your list for your next visit to Milan!
Looking for something a bit different to do on your trip to Milan? Why not visit the city’s beautiful spa, QC Termemilano in Porta Romana. A spa and wellness centre built in the ruins of a Roman building, you pay an entrance fee to stay and relax for as long as you like.
There are different price points depending on what day of the week you visit, and what time you enter. Peak weekend times will cost you €54, while weekday evenings are €42. Included in the price is a robe, slippers, and a towel.
The Facilities
Once you’ve checked in and received your goodies, you’ll make your way to the changing rooms. There are plenty of lockers to store your stuff, including a safe in each if you want to secure any valuables. The lockers need a €1 coin to lock, but you get it back when you leave the key behind. Also, if you’re shy like me, there are a few mini cubicles to change in and out of your swim gear.
The showers all have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available, and there are a few stations with hair dryers and straighteners for you to get glammed up. They also have skincare products available for you to use, which can be purchased out front if you fall in love with them.
The Experience
QC Termemilano has two large, heated outdoor pools where you can relax and enjoy the old Roman walls that are still standing along the side of the building. There is also an old Milan tram in the yard that’s been converted into a sauna. At night, the whole thing is lit up with dreamy fairy lights.
Inside and downstairs, you’ll find dozens of little rooms with hot and cold water pools, waterfalls, foot baths, saunas, and steam rooms. Upstairs there are several relaxation rooms, where you can curl up on a big poof for a light nap. You could spend hours wandering around the place!
When Should You Go?
My vote is for the evenings. Firstly, when you’re outside soaking up the relaxing bubbles in the outdoor pool, you can lay back and watch the stars. Equally important is the massive aperitivo spread that is available (and included in the price of your admission!) between 7:00-9:00pm. We’re talking all sorts of pizzas, breads, quiches, fruit, veggies, cheese, and of course, wine, beer, and bubbles. Yes, all included.
Your time spent at QC Termemilano will be equal parts interesting Italian experience and relaxing time away from the bustle of the busy city.
