Jenny visited! The first big thing touristy thing we did was visit the monument for the Great Fire of 1666. It’s a tall tower built to commemorate the fire and “celebrate the rebuilding of the city.” The monument consists of 311 steps up a spiral staircase. When you reach the top, you get this gorgeous view. I had seen the monument before, but didn’t get close enough to realize you could climb up it.
If you want to see the city, but don’t want to pay the ridiculous price to go on the London Eye, have a quick walk up the steps of the monument.
They even give you a certificate at the end!
