I love having an endless list of places I want to see and experience. There is always something to book! But it can also be daunting when you’re trying to plan a trip. Do you take a few weeks and check off as many things as possible? Or see one or two places at a slower pace? I’ve sat down to refine my travel bucket list for 2017. Here’s what it looks like now:
Positano, Italy

I’ve always thought I wanted to ride a moped through the narrow streets of Positano, Italy. I had imagined of myself as Audrey Hepburn gracefully perched on a scooter in the sun, probably wearing a big floppy hat. The more I see of Italy though, the less I feel the need to drive anything there. I do, however, still want to visit Positano and the Amalfi Coast!
Dijon, France
Airbnb has a quiz called Maisons de France: Which region of France should you live in?. I’ve visited Paris many times, spent a few days in the Loire Valley, and seen a lot of the South, but I’ve still missed the bits in the middle. After seeing my result, the Burgundy region, I had a look at Airbnb listings in Dijon.

Wikipedia tells me that Dijon is “one of the country’s principal wine-producing areas. It’s known for its vineyard tours, autumn gastronomic fair and building styles ranging from Gothic to art deco.” Well, I’m sold! Between that, the photos, and the fabulous places to stay, I’ll be there soon.

Athens, Greece

Greece has eluded me these past five years. With a flight time of just over 4 hours from Dublin to Athens, getting to Greece isn’t as easy as the western destinations in Europe. There is so much history in the country that I knew I’d need an extended stay for a visit. I can’t wait to get to Athens in May!
Vienna, Austria

The history, the culture, the composers! I’ve always wanted to do a weekend in Vienna, but just never got there. I think 2017 will be the year to see this beautiful city.
Greek Islands

Everyone’s dream! A visit to Greece isn’t complete without an island or two. The blue roofs of Santorini will definitely be happening, and perhaps a stop in Mykonos. I’ve started to do some research for this trip, and things are getting exciting! Stay tuned..
Croatia

I’ve always had Dubrovnik on my list, and I’ll finally get there in May. I’ve been told it’s quite small, but the views look amazing. From there, the rest is still up in the air! I’ve heard Split is beautiful, but that there are some amazing islands as well. Any suggestions?
