Here is your itinerary for a girly weekend in Dublin.
What kind of traveller wants to visit Dublin for a girly weekend? You’re the same as any other visitor, maybe it’s your first time, but you’ve come over with your best girlfriends. You could be local, and just looking for something different to do. Whatever your business in Dublin, you can have a girly weekend here.
Day 1: Saturday
Start the day off right! Get your blow dried at Dry & Fly Blow Dry Beauty Bar. This will set you up well for a glamorous and indulgent afternoon tea experience at the Merrion Hotel.
There are no shortage of nail salons in Dublin, but why not get yours done at Saoirse Ronan’s favourite spot, Tropical Popical? Make sure you book ahead, they’re always busy, and closed on Sundays.
Have dinner at the new local hotspot, The Ivy. Make sure you check out the bathrooms, the decor in the place is stunning!
Head over to the very popular South William Street to Farrier & Draper, a cocktail bar that spans several floors. It has a gorgeous, eclectic style, and often have a real fireplace burning to keep you warm!
Day 2: Sunday
Sunday mornings are best spent relaxing over brunch. Make your way to Drury Buildings, around the corner from where you were last night, for their brunch special — a main and a brunch cocktail for €17.50. If you’re around in the summer, try to get a spot in their courtyard outside. You won’t know what city you’re in!
Dublin has a great theatre scene. Head towards Grand Canal for a matinee at the Bord Gais Energy theatre. If the show you end up seeing only has a small number of dates, and you see quite a few open seats available when you’re buying tickets, go for the cheapest ones. They will often stop you when you arrive and move you down to the front!
To close off your classy Sunday, go for a few late afternoon cocktails at The Marker Hotel next to the theatre. They have a fantastic rooftop bar that opens on nice summer days and will give you great views of the area.
