I popped over to Paris for the weekend to see Connie and Hilary. Yes, it’s just that easy!

I met the girls at 10:30 and we headed straight for the Musee D’Orsay. I remembered my passport this time and my UK Visa got me in for free!
We had lunch at a café nearby and made the €16 mistake of sitting down for our baguettes. We then walked up the Champs Elysees and sat under the Arc de Triomphe. It was nice to see some things for a second time.
We visited the Petit Palais for another free exhibition of beaux arts, then headed back to the hostel to freshen up before dinner. I may have had a crepe at this point. Maybe.
We had a yummy dinner near the Place d’Italie, which turned out to be my birthday dinner (!!), then went to the Eiffel Tower to watch it sparkle.
On Sunday we visited the Pere Lachaise cemetery, resting place of Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, and many others. It was sombre, but very beautiful.

We also visited the Tour Montparnasse, a really ugly building with the best view in the city.. because it includes the Eiffel Tower! I know, there’s me at another great height, but here you get to take an indoor lift to the 56th floor, then climb to the roof. My kind of enclosed heights!
