It’s (nearly) the most wonderful time of the year! We’re starting to think about our loved ones, our friends, our colleagues, and what little trinkets we can find to show them how much they mean to us.
The Christmas season is my favourite time of year, whether you celebrate the religious holiday or not. There is an undeniable feeling of (dare I say it) cheer that permeates cities and offices as people wind down their busy lives to spend time relaxing with their nearest and dearest.
When it comes to gifts, though, there are way too many things to choose from! The question for most of the people in my life these days is, “what do you get for the one who has everything?”
Hopefully, this will give you a head start. Here is my gift guide for the travel enthusiasts in your life! These gifts are for the holidaymakers and the globetrotters, for the jet-setters and the backpackers. Whether they’re the creative photographer, the travel tech wizard, a blogger, or someone who chases experiences, there should be something on this list for all of them!
Gift Ideas for the traveller behind the camera
1. DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Gimbal || 2. SanDisk Memory Card || 3. Gatta Lola Miel Camera Bag || 4. Wireless Remote Control for Camera || 5. Camera Strap || 6. GoPro HERO5 Sports Camera
This list is for the person behind the lens, the one who is never without a camera in one hand and a story to tell. I love my DJI Osmo Mobile Gimbal (1) for wandering around new cities. It’s a stabiliser for your phone that allows you to get smooth video footage without being too intrusive as you walk through crowds. I’m also a big fan of the Gatta camera bags (3), they’re a chic alternative to a bulky bag.
Accessories for equipment can often go overlooked, so things like a vintage camera strap (5), wireless remote control (4), or additional memory cards (2) will go a long way!
Bonus Ideas: Camera travel tripod || Memory card holder || External hard drive
Gift ideas for the traveller who chases experiences
1. DJI Spark Drone || 2. Etsy Gift Card / Asana Rebel App Subscription || 3. Waterproof phone case || 4. Waist pack || 5. ONA Camera Backpack || 6. Smartphone camera lenses
This list is for the people who are chasing life’s experiences. A drone is an obvious choice (1); you can get unbelievable areal video footage and really see a different side of a place. DJI is a very popular brand for drones, but there are lots of others out there to fit your budget. I also love the idea of gift credit or app subscriptions. Asana Rebel (2) is a great app that helps you work out wherever you are.
Waterproof phone cases (3) are an interesting one I hadn’t ever thought about.. until I was in Iceland! Everyone at the Blue Lagoon had their phones in these so they could get photos without the risk of submerging their €950 phone in the water. A road ready camera backpack (5) is always good for people on the move, and lenses for smartphones (6) are helpful for those trips where you need to pack light.
Gift ideas for the one who travels and writes about it
1. Power bank || 2. Wireless headphones || 3. Tailwind Plus Account || 4. Adobe Lightroom App || 5. Moleskine Notebook || 6. Creative Market credits / Udemy Courses || 7. Digital Voice Recorder
What to buy for the bloggers in your life? It’s safe to say things like power banks (1) to keep gadgets running and Moleskine notebooks (5) will be well received. If you buy a Moleskine in the shop, they may even personalise it for you! Wireless headphones (2) are helpful for anyone on the road, and a digital voice recorder (7) is a great way for writers to gather thoughts, feelings, and story ideas in real time.
Something different for those who do writing and blogging is account credit or premium account access to tools that will help upskill their work. Tailwind (3) is a helpful tool for avid Pinterest users, Adobe Lightroom (4) is great for photo editing, Udemy (6) offers courses to learn new skills, and Creative Market credits (6) can be used to buy creative tools, presets, and templates.

I hope you found this gift guide helpful! Always keep in mind what sort of travel may be coming up for your friend, they may not want anything too big or heavy! Gift cards and functional items might be the safest option.
Alternatively, if you’ve got a dreamer on your hands, items like travel prints, paintings, and scratch maps might help with their wanderlust. Merry Christmas!
